To the Rescue! The Best Charity Organizations in New York

Giving something to friends and family is wonderful! But if you want to spread the good news to the less fortunate, here are some ways to get started. This group on the Lower East Side has been doing a good job for more than half a century. If you want to help but don’t know how – address these charity organizations in New York!

Henry Street Settlement

Service, which serves the predominantly Asian and Hispanic community. It includes a variety of programs such as pantries, summer camps, and summer schools. Each $1,000 contribution sends a child to summer camp for free or at a cost of $100 to $150 per child.

Food Bank For New York City

In January, $5 or more can be paid for enough food to feed a family of four for a week, more than enough to buy at a local grocery store or help in local soup kitchens and call locations. The group’s Hunts Point warehouse is one of the largest food stores in New York City, and its food distribution program helps feed up to 2.5 million New Yorkers annually. Prepare for food trucks that pick up non-perishable food and buy fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as meat and dairy products.

Robin Hood Foundation

The organization funds more than 100 poverty prevention and aid programs for the poor, and all donated funds go directly to those in need. Operating expenses are covered by an annual grant of $1.5 million from The Weinstein Company, of which Harvey Weinstein and Gwyneth Paltrow are members, as well as donations.

Student Sponsor Partners

Sponsors pay an average of $2,200 and spend time with students four to six times a year. The so-called “Time Godfather” “can donate $250 and meet the children regularly, and sponsors pay for the time and travel expenses.

Bide-A-Wee Home Association

If you have a friendly dog or cat, you can take it with you to encourage your client to join one of the 50 institutions participating in the Pet Therapy program, including the New York City Humane Society, the Bronx Animal Shelter, and the Animal Welfare Society. SSP graduates study animal welfare, animal care, dog and cat care, and shelter management. They bring kittens, puppies, and kittens from safe shelters to shelters and care for dogs and cats in need of care.

CityMeals-on-Wheels

If you prefer to spend time than money, visit the city’s food customers and help with food delivery. Pay for the group to prepare 1,000 to 2,500 meals a year for low-income and resident people.

Learning Leaders

Provide the education necessary to teach children with academic disabilities in participating in public schools. You must commit to lead six one-hour guided tours, but you can choose a two-day, three-week or four-month program. Participate in a core program of education groups and volunteer to serve third-graders. Each tour lasts four hours and you must commit to lead up to six of them, with a maximum of four hours per year.

Children from traditionally hostile groups even sleep in the same cabin, and campers from Jews, Palestinians, Indians, and Pakistanis attend conflict resolution sessions to learn how to peacefully resolve differences. Send teenagers to a conflict zone with a contribution of up to $2,500; if that is over budget, small donations are welcome.

These charity organizations in New York are there for those in need! They will always lend them a hand!
